Maori Warrior
Joe David (1946 – First Nation)
This “Maori Warrior” is the bronze cast of a wooden artwork by First Nation artist Joe David which can be admired in the Vancouver Museum in Canada. The faces of both the First Nations and the Maori are incorporated in this mask. The inspiration for this artwork came after his visit to New Zealand and the Maori tribe. During this visit, Joe David saw the similarities between the First Nations and the Maori’s and this was the inspiration for this work of art.
